Sunday breakfast

OK, for some reason in our family, it has become a tradition for hubby to make a yummy cooked breakfast. You all know the type - pancake stack dripping in maple syrup, scrambled eggs so cheesy that they string when you pull them off the plate. Don't get me started on the crispy fried bacon ... mmmmmmmmmmmmmm .... bacon ....

Right, where was I? Oh yeah, Sunday breakfast.

Anyway, he's totally excelled himself today with the whole WW thing. As he was making pancakes (from scratch mind you) with butter & cinnamon sugar for himself and the kids, he whipped me up the following: Multigrain bread toasted, with a thin layer of lite ham, a poached egg & philli cheese, grilled with the runny yolk taking place of the sauce. It was awesome! So yummy - and only 4.5 points. Applause for Mick! YAY!

I'm only 31, not 81!

Even though there is a 50 year discrepancy in the ages of 31 and 81, I often feel like my life resembles the elderly. I am so friggin' boring. I do nothing, I have no social life, I bore myslef to tears!

Hence the lack of posting. I have nothing really to report. Its pathetic really.

The exercise has been practically non-existant, I'm staying within my points range, and have been plodding along quietly (as one does when they're of the senior-citizen variety).

I've joined another online thing, this one is related to food. So, I will be posting and attempting recipes for feedback/review - so some startlingly stunning literature is upcoming no doubt.

I did however do some OTP scrapbooking stuff, which I'm thinking of selling - check it out:

This is why we measure, people!

Right, first off I would like to say - TWO PEOPLE READ MY BLOG! Woo Hoo! I have comments! That, in of itself, is pretty awesome - so HELLO!

Back to reality - I had another loss this week, and I'm pretty stoked with it actually. I lost 1.1kg so that's a total of 3.5kg in 2 weeks - not too shabby I say!

And, even better news, I have lost 14.5cm in 1
week. Oh yeah, that's right, I said it! I have lost 14.5cm in 1 week! OMFG!

Went to have coffee with Stace this morning, as one does on a Tuesday morning, and she said that she wanted to re-measure me today, even though it's only been 1 week since she measured me last. I thought it was a waste of time and energy to be honest, and just went with the flow, but WOW! I cannot believe the change in measurements:

Why oh why do I do this to myself?

Well, for those of you who read (and I'm doubting that there are actually any readers of this drivel), you may not know, but I am a Tupperware Demonstrator. This is not my regular job, I actually work for another part-time regular job (21 hours per week), but this is a bit of a cash-driven process for me. Mick, myself and the 3 girls are planning on a trip to the Gold Coast in a couple of months and we have no money! So, enter Tupperware, approx. 2 months ago.
So, on top of working a stressful job 21hours per week, having three kids, having to pack up the house (we're also moving in less than 75 days), trying to lose weight, and keep my marriage afloat (for aforementioned reasons), I have decided to tackle Tupperware!
Yes, I know, I am a bit of a dickhead sometimes. I really need to just stop for a bit, and not try to do everything myself, but I can't really help it! So, as there are no parties to be had (dried up, can't be shagged asking my friends to do more), I am approaching local schools and childcare centres to do a Lunchbox Drive Fundraiser! WTF am I doing? I desperately need the money, coz we can't postpone the holiday. My parents have generously paid for half of our accommodation (already booked and paid for), so we really kind of have to go! Arrrggghhhhh, frustration!
So, trying to get some assitance by my practically non-existant manager, but that doesn't seem to be happening. I really hope this takes off, but only time will tell.
Anyhoo, enough waffle from me - points going ok, exercise not too bad (30min stroll).

Yummy Slow Cooker Recipe

So, in our bid for low-points cooking, we scoured the WW web site and found this yummy slow-cooker recipe. As is previously established, I am inherently lazy in nature, so the slow-cooker is perfect way to cook!
So, I wanted to share, coz it's so yummy!

SWEET & SOUR BRAISED STEAK:

Ingredients:
  • 2 clove garlic, crushed
  • 2 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 500gm mushrooms (I omitted this, coz the thought of eating fungus repulses me)
  • 500gm tomato-based pasta sauce, with chilli
  • 2 whole stockcubes (beef), disolved in 500ml hot water
  • 185ml red wine
  • 1 tsp ground paprika
  • 1 tbs balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tbs brown sugar
  • 1500gm fat-trimmed rump steak, cut into 6 equal parts

Instructions:

  1. Combine garlic, onion, mushrooms, pasta sauce, stock, redwine, paprika, vinegar and sugar in a large bowl. Season well with salt & pepper.
  2. Place steak in the bottom of a 6lt slow cooker, then cover with sauce. Ensure it's totally covered.
  3. Cover slowcooker, and cook food on high for 4 hours. Remove steak from slowcooker and sit for 2 minutes. Slice steak on diagonal, against the grain. Arrange steak on a platter and cover with sauce.

SERVES: 8

POINTS VALUE: 5pts per serve

Going well here

So, I'm plodding along quite well here. It's a lovely day, and we headed down to the park for a picnic lunch & a walk / bike ride - it was awesome. It's not very often I feel like I can just relax and enjoy the kids, but I have done so today, which has been great. We also had the added benefit of catching up with friends down there: Stace, Tallan, Tahnee, Sue, Carl, Bec, Chris, Mackenna, Lincoln & Juddson. So, all in all, it was a great arvo.

I'm staying within my points at the moment, which is yay for me! I even jumped onto the Wii Sports last night and played a few games of tennis. Not exactly a marathon, but I got up and moved which is better than I would have done 3 weeks ago!

Nothing else really happening here, I just wanted to touch base and be accountable.

Day three - meh!

Day 3 of the x-couch potato challenge, and I haven't had an opportunity to exercise! grrrrrr
Coz Mick works at 5am, I can't get up and walk before work - and NO I'm not walking at 4.30 thank you very much!
Then, when I work, I'm up at 6.45am, off to work by 9am after school/childcare dropoffs, then I work, get home, bathe and feed the kids etc and then housework in the evenings. Yeah, so where is the 15-20mins meant to go? Bah, it sucks!
On the flipside, I have decided to re-join my netball team! I had initially decided not to coz they (being the committee) said that we couldn't wear leggings! I was like WTF? But I've got fat knees! So, I found out today that I can wear black trackies, so thats awesome!
I'm actually really keen to get back into in now!
That's about all, so I'm off to do dinner.
Cya!

Bah, humdrum!

OMG my life is so boring! I didn't do anything of interest today. Up at 6.45, got kids ready for school / care, dropped them off, raced to work, worked, got home, bathed / fed / bed kids and thats it! Yawn....SOOOOO fricken' boring!
But, I have gone for a wander during my very brief lunchbreak, so I have fulfilled my duty for my current challenge. Also, I'm under the points count for today - so another woo hoo for me.
I'm going to put in 1 positive thing for the day that has happened to me. So, todays I was chatting to a friend on the phone and she said "oh, I noticed on Saturday that you are really losing the weight". Thanks Kez!

Looking to the future ... I like what I see!

OK, so a bit of motivation, I've done up some virtual models from http://www.mvm.com/
The first one is at 105kg (me last week - blah). The second one is the projection of me at 65kg - my goal weight.
Notice in my thin life I have an awesome short haircut!

Woo Fricken Hoo!

Can you tell that I'm happy? I just had my first Weigh-in (from now on referred to WI due to my inherant laziness) and I am now 2.4kg lighter! WOO FRICKEN' HOO!!!!!

So, in the whole scheme of things, I am ahead of schedule! My ultimate aim is to lose a kilo a week, so this is good: very, very good!

My plan to move this arvo is to go swimming with the kids (scary thought), and a good friend of mine is coming with her kids, so it should be good.

Day 1 of x-couch potato - CHECK!

Woo Hoo!
I actually was successful in my first day of the challenge, and I even walked THREE TIMES! That's right, you heard me, it says "three times".
Granted, they weren't huge walks, just 15 minute strolls really, but I did it! I am quite chuffed with myself really!
I have even eaten well within my points, and after dinner I will still have 5 points remaining for a coffee & a WW creme caramel - gotta be stoked about that surely!
Weigh-in is tomorrow, and I would be lying if I said I wasn't anxious. There's not much I can do about this past week now. I'm definately going to be working harder this week, thats for sure.

X-Couch Potato Challenge

I am in severe need for assistance to get off my fat arse and move it. We all know that insane philosophy that you actually have to move your body to move the weight, so I'm about to test that crazy hypothesis that I've heard along the grapevine.

So, to help me on this little venture from the couch to the pavement, I'm joining a challenge on the WW website called the "X-Couch Potato Challenge". This is the premise:

Week 1 – Stroll/Walk 15 minutes a day – stretch gently after exercise – keep a note of minutes walked each day. Recommended: use a log book to track your daily minutes walked and pulse rates.
Week 2 – Walk/stroll 20 minutes a day – stretch gently – note minutes walked each day. Write up your log book (optional). Your Resting pulse and Exercise pulse rates will get lower as you get fitter.
Week 3 – walk 5 minutes (warm up) – brisk walk 20 minutes – walk 5 minutes (cool down) – stretch gently. Write up log book (optional).

For the purposes of the WW website, each Monday is log-in day. That being said, I am needing to be more accountable, therefore I will be trying to log on here daily to be just that! It will also eliminate the need to do a log book (see, I am innately lazy!)

And I'm back....

Righty-oh. Ok. So, where to start?

Ummmm, it's been a couple of years, and since then I'm back to my original weight. I do have a third daughter to show for it though! (insert insanely gorgeous picture here).

I'm back on the WW bandwagon, coz the TF program doesn't work with my insane lifestyle. I kept skipping shakes, and I worked out quite quickly that that doesn't help the weightloss!

So, here we are, back at the beginning again. I must say however, that I really enjoyed gaining the 25kg during the pregnancy! I got back up to 111kg, but have gotten myself down to 105.2kg by myself, but am needing some help now, so along comes WW.

Piper is now 8 months old, and it's time to get rid of the excuses. So, buckle up bitches, it's time for the ride!
